Turkey would not greenlight NATO membership for countries imposing sanctions on it: Erdogan

Ankara (The Times Groupe)- Turkey will not allow countries that impose sanctions on it to join NATO, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday.

Asia (The Times Groupe) – Major Asian stock exchanges closed mixed on Monday.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, fell 18 points, or 0.55%, to 3,389 points.

The Nikkei 225 stock exchange lost 29 points, or 0.11%, to 26,818.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark index for blue chip stocks traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange, rose 813 points, or 4%, to 21,089.

Shanghai’s stock exchange gained 71 points, or 2.41%, to 3,047.

The Sensex index fell 84 points, or 0.15%, to 56,975.

Singapore’s index rose 21 points, or 0.65%, to 3,356.
