Free Speech or not; The poll’s result is matter

TechFree Speech or not; The poll's result is matter

California (Times Of Ocean)- Billionaire’s poll less than 24 hours after his earlier poll, seeking responses on whether Twitter’s algorithm should be open source. Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted asking if people believe social media giant Facebook “rigorously adheres” to the freedom of speech principle.

Elon Musk recently asked on Twitter if people believed that the social media giant adhered to the principle of free speech.

“Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?” he wrote on his Twitter account, giving two options to his social media followers to vote: yes or no.

Musk also had launched a poll just a day earlier asking whether Twitter’s algorithm should be open source.

Twitter’s open-source algorithms would allow people to see how it decides what to show them in their feed.

Many people responded to the tweet, including Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, who stepped down as CEO in November last year.

Dorsey replied, “The choice of which algorithm to use (or not) should be open to everyone.”

Meanwhile, Musk had replied to Tim Urban account on March 24 that ‘I’m worried about de facto bias in “the Twitter algorithm” having a major effect on public discourse. How do we know what’s really happening?’

“The algorithm needs to be open source,” Musk demanded.
