Paris (The Times Groupe)- The French media reported on Monday that Prime Minister Jean Castex had resigned.
Castex’s move sets the stage for a Cabinet reshuffle as Emmanuel Macron enters his second term, France 24 reported.
Former Socialist Party government bureaucrat Elisabeth Borne, the current labor minister, could counter the hard-left challenge mounted by Jean-Luc Melenchon, who placed third in the presidential election, the report said.
Macron could assemble a broad coalition of France’s left-leaning parties for the June 12-19 parliamentary vote, France 24 reported.
