Europe (Times Of Ocean)- Over $24 billion has been committed by the finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Seven (G7) countries to support Ukraine in the war with Russia in 2022.
“As a result of the ongoing Russian aggression, the ongoing suffering of the Ukrainian population, and the continued destruction of the country, we are prepared to do more as necessary,” the UK Treasury said in a statement.
Ukraine has received more than $60 billion in economic support since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.
“Our sanctions are already having the massive impact we intended on the Russian economy, which will likely contract significantly this year,” it said.
The G7 is an intergovernmental forum that includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the United States.
