Tehran (Times Of Ocean)- Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian visited Moscow on Tuesday after negotiations on an Iran nuclear deal stalled over new Russian demands.

Iran’s foreign minister is visiting Moscow for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine Iran talks in Vienna provisionally stumbled.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss the conflict in Ukraine and ongoing international talks to revive the landmark 2015 Iran nuclear pact with visiting his Iranian counterpart Amir-Abdollahian, according to news agencies.

Earlier in the week, France, Britain, and Germany warned that talks on a revived nuclear deal could collapse over Kremlin demands to have its trade with Tehran guaranteed amid massive sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

Negotiations on renewing the 2015 Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA), which have been taking place in Vienna, ceased after Moscow presented its new demands earlier this month.

“The ministers will pay special attention to the situation around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program (JCPOA) in the context of the negotiating process in Vienna, which has entered the final stretch,” state-owned TASS quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.

Nour News, affiliated with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, described the Iranian foreign minister’s visit to Moscow as “a platform for serious, frank, and forward-looking talks” between two countries, which have demonstrated that “they can work very closely, decisively, and successfully on complex issues.”

Some experts claim that Iran moves in the direction of Russian interests, while many Iranian patriots consider Kremlin a historical enemy of Iran.
