RABAT, Morocco (Times Of Ocean)- Dorit Avidani has been named Consul and Head of Administration at the Israeli Liaison Office in Morocco, according to an Israeli official.
Deputy head of the Israeli mission in Rabat, Eyal David, congratulated Avidani on his new position.
David praised Avidani’s 30 years in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.
Moroccan authorities have not yet responded to the announcement.
The two countries reestablished diplomatic relations on Dec. 10, 2020, after they were suspended in 2000 following the outbreak of the second Palestinian Intifada.
In 2020, Morocco became the fourth Arab country to normalize ties with Israel after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan.
Since normalizing ties in 2020, Israel and Morocco have been consolidating their relationship.
