Yerevan (Times Of Ocean)- Armenia’s prime minister said on Wednesday that normalization talks between neighboring Turkey and Armenia should continue.
Nikol Pashinyan told Armenia’s parliament in Yerevan that the sides should do their best to ensure the talks keep going.
He added that the Armenian side is aware of all the possible risks involved in the negotiations, but advocated for them to continue and dialogue to be initiated.
Pashinyan noted that Yerevan has informed its international partners that results might not come quickly, saying those partners fully support the normalization of bilateral ties.
Turkey and Armenia have been divided by such things as borders and the events of 1915, but last December, they named special envoys to discuss normalizing ties. On Jan. 14 and Feb. 24, the day Russia launched its war on Ukraine, which has dominated the global agenda ever since, two rounds of talks were held.
