Kyiv (Times Of Ocean)- Ukraine’s media reported late Friday that 9,145 people have been evacuated through humanitarian corridors in the last 24 hours.

A senior official says nine humanitarian aid corridors opened Friday.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, announced the opening of nine humanitarian aid corridors Friday, state news agency Ukrinform reported.

A total of 4,972 people, including 1,124 children, were evacuated from Mariupol to Zaporizhia, Tymoshenko said on Telegram.

Meanwhile, 4,173 people were evacuated from the Sumy Region.

As a result of the Russia-Ukraine war, which began on Feb. 24, Moscow has been sanctioned and global firms have left the country.

According to the UN, at least 816 civilians have been killed and 1,333 injured in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict.

UNHCR reports that more than 3.27 million people have fled to neighboring countries.
