Warsaw (Times Of Ocean)- Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he would visit the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Tuesday along with his counterparts Czech PM Petr Fiala and Slovenia’s Prime Minister Janez Janša.
The PMs will travel to Ukraine to meet President Volodomyr Zelenskiy with the agreement of the European Union and the United Nations.
Poland said in a statement that the prime ministers of the three nations will act as representatives of the European Council, and that the meeting was organized in consultation with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen.
The statement, which was published in English, added that the purpose of the visit is to confirm “the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” as well as to “present a broad package of support for the Ukraine (sic) and Ukrainians.”
International organizations, such as the U.N., were also informed of the visit, the statement said.
The delegation will also include Jaros*aw Kaczyski, Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party leader.
In a tweet, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the three leaders will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal.

“The aim of the visit is to express the European Union’s unequivocal support for Ukraine and its freedom and independence,” Fiala declared.
“At the same time, we will present a broad package of support for Ukraine and its citizens during the visit. The international community has also been informed of this visit by international organizations, including the United Nations.”
Overnight, Russian troops stepped up strikes on several suburbs of Kyiv as part of Kremlin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
A fourth round of European Union sanctions targeting Russia’s business and media elite, as well as several defense firms, will be published soon.
