Moscow (Times Of Ocean)- Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed “gave a positive assessment” joint work in the OPEC+ format during a phone call, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The Kremlin said they also discussed the situation in Ukraine and Yemen.
On the phone call, the two nations also discussed ways to increase bilateral relations and the ways in which they can be enhanced in all fields while serving the interests of both countries and their friendly people.
The Crown Prince, for his part, expressed Saudi Arabia’s support for efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine and preserving security and stability.
At the beginning of March, the Saudi Crown Prince and Russia’s Vladimir Putin had talked by telephone about holding mediation talks between Russia and Ukraine as the war between the two countries entered its second week. The Arab state’s de facto leader called for a “political solution” after the Russian invasion and reaffirmed his support for the OPEC+ group of oil producers, which includes Russia.
The Arab nations on the Persian Gulf shores, including Saudi Arabia, the world’s biggest oil exporter, have mostly refrained from criticizing the Russian invasion, with which they have growing ties.
