Doha (Times Of Ocean)- Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatar’s foreign minister, reiterated the importance of reaching a nuclear deal with Iran on Saturday.
During the Doha Forum international conference, bin Abdulrahman said dialogue is essential to increasing security and stability in the region.
“We believe in diplomatic solutions to maintain global security and the resolving of crises through dialogue and diplomacy,” he said.
There have been indirect negotiations between the US and Iran regarding the latter’s nuclear program since April 2021. They have been facilitated by other participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) through protracted shuttle diplomacy.
He called on the world to approach problems in the Middle East with the same resolve it exhibited in solving the Ukraine crisis. Geopolitical crises like Russia’s war on Ukraine have global repercussions, he said.
On Saturday, the 20th edition of the Doha Forum began in the Qatari capital.
The two-day conference will feature prominent speakers, including policy-makers, representatives of international organizations, business leaders, activists and academics.
