Ankara (The Times Groupe)- Daily electricity consumption in Turkey increased by 0.01% on Thursday, totaling 904,707 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
According to data from TEIAS, the hourly power consumption peaked at 43,305 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT). At 07.00 local time (0400 GMT), the Turkey’s electricity usage dropped to 29,646 megawatt-hours.
On Thursday, electricity production in Turkey reached 897,899 megawatt-hours, an increase of 0.01% from Tuesday.
In total, 27.4% of electricity production was generated by natural gas plants, while imported coal and hydro power plants contributed 16.3% and 16.1%, respectively.
The country exported 11,525 megawatt-hours of electricity on Thursday, and imported 18,333 megawatt-hours.
