Washington (Times Of Ocean)- Joe Biden will meet with his Polish counterpart in Warsaw to discuss Russia’s war on Ukraine, a spokeswoman said.
The White House said Sunday that US President Joe Biden will travel to Poland this week to discuss Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Jen Psaki said Biden will meet with Poland’s President Andrzej Duda on Friday in Warsaw.
“The President will discuss how the United States, alongside our Allies and partners, is responding to the humanitarian and human rights crisis that Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked war on Ukraine has created,” said Psaki.
Biden will attend a NATO summit in Brussels and participate in a meeting of the European Council to discuss international efforts to support Ukraine and impose costs on Russia.
Since Russia launched its war on its western neighbor on Feb. 24, at least 902 civilians have died and some 1,459 have been injured in Ukraine.
The UN has stated that the real figures are likely to be much higher since conditions on the ground make verification difficult.
Over 3.38 million refugees have fled from Ukraine since the war began, with over 2 million taken in by Poland, close to 530,000 by Romania, and more than 362,000 by Moldova.
Approximately 6.5 million people are estimated to be internally displaced in the country.
